PR Live Boosts Team

Event technical production and rental specialist PR Live expands its team with the addition of three new key staff members who joined the south London based company following extremely strong business during the first half of the year.

Dave Gillett joins as Head of Technical, while Karl Travers and Rhys Williams both come on-board as Senior Project Managers, all bringing lots of energy, dynamics and a vast fund of experience, knowledge and excellent contacts to the PR Live equation led by founder and MD, Ian Coull.

Ian comments, “I’m delighted to welcome Dave, Karl and Rhys to PR Live, and we all look forward to the hectic pace continuing for the rest of the year. It’s great to attract three people of this calibre to join our excellent and highly committed team who all share our core values, ideas and personality”.

Dave Gillett - Head of Technical

Dave has a decade of industry experience, starting off with a lighting company in Wales and then for another high profile London based events company where he developed his skills as a lighting and video engineer, including the design of complex and sophisticated systems and advising on new technology investments.

At PR Live he brings his technical experience, a love of innovation and an inventive approach to system design plus his knowledge of projection and pixel mapping and enthusiasm for more creative video scenarios.

All of this will be invaluable in his work at PR live, which will include producing original and imaginative visual solutions for the benefit of all clients.

Dave is looking forward to working with Richard Smith and Rhys Williams again – having done so during the early days at the previous company – “After my initial meeting at PR Live I was immediately struck with the inclusive and lively environment … so when offered the job … it was a no-brainer!”

PR Live works alongside some of the most exciting production agencies in Europe and Dave is looking forward to pushing the boundaries of technical production and production values across all events.

Dave is also a classically trained percussionist and maintains his keen interest in music playing the drums.

Karl Travers - Senior Project Manager

Karl brings 20 years of live event industry experience to PR Live involving multiple show formats and design at a number of levels including technical, operational, production, business development and creative.

He’s also worked with live productions and venue installations worldwide, experience which has enabled him to develop a wide understanding of different requirements to meet a variety of expectations.

At PR Live he’s tasked with delivering world class event technical production, utilizing the talents and energising skills of the in-house technical teams and regular freelancers which bring further impetus to the pool of resources.

He will be overseeing projects from the initial brief through to the post-event reviews and will manage event crews, installations and technical elements.

Karl has also spent a lot of time on the road, so it’s a new challenge to be able to look at rental and production house systems and management, specifying systems to meet individual, diverse and unique requirements.

This has allowed him to develop his skills on all fronts – from the practical and technical to the diplomatic and political, with a grounded attitude and a great overall perspective on any project or event.

Outside of the all-consuming world of events, Rhys loves being outdoors. He’s been an assistant Scout leader since 18 years old  … and can be regularly found in his spare time hanging off rock faces or zooming up and down mountains on his bike!
