NTP Technology reports increasing demand for its range of no-compromise audio products in the music recording, film-sound and broadcast post-production markets. Powering this growth is an accelerating degree of interest in immersive audio formats designed to recreate very high levels of acoustic realism for film theatres and domestic listening rooms.

"Latest-generation immersive audio adds hugely to the impact film producers can deliver to cinema audiences," comments NTP Technology sales director Mikael Vest. "Object-based surround processing allows very precise three-dimensional control of vertical as well lateral sound positioning. The surround effects now possible carry the cinema experience to an entirely new level and the industry is already gearing to bring that into the home viewing environment. We see this as the foundation for a global renaissance across the entire electronic media business as cinemagoers, television viewers and music-lovers embrace these great new developments in audio reproduction."

Co-exhibiting with US distributor plus24 at the broadcast media industry's largest annual exhibition, the recent NAB Show in Las Vegas, NTP Technology demonstrated its DAD AX32 analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue audio converter, DAD DX32R digital audio bridge and Penta 720 router.

Designed for high quality music recording, audio post-production and live applications, the DAD AX32 offers up to 48 channels of A/D and D/A conversion. It can be configured with a wide range of options comprising microphone pre-amplifiers, MADI, AES and SDI embedders/de-embedders, Dante/AES67 connectivity, a 1500 x 1500 audio router and the Pro Mon 2 monitor controller.

Introduced to the American markets at NAB, the latest version of the DAD DX32R digital audio bridge incorporates Dante/AES67 to MADI and AES/EBU conversion. With an optional Pro Mon 2 license, the DX32R can also now perform channel summing/mixing. To ensure high reliability, the DX32R comes complete with a redundant Dante interface and redundant power supplies plus two optional MADI interfaces which also operate in redundant mode.

Additionally making its first US exhibition appearance at NAB, the MOM (Monitor Operating Module) is a control unit for Pro Mon 2 allowing various adjustments for studio control room level, cut, mute, talkback and speaker reference level. Source and speaker select buttons can be configured to any Pro Mon 2 input source and speaker or monitor output.

Next event in the NTP Technology calendar is the May 20-23 AES Convention in Berlin where the company will be exhibiting on stand 421.
