NewTek TriCaster™ Virtual Set Editor presented at SATIS 2010 and RME10

New software product allows easy customization of NewTek TriCaster HD live virtual sets

3DStorm (NewTek Europe), distributor of NewTek products in Europe, Africa and the Middle-East is presenting NewTek TriCaster™ Virtual Set Editor (VSE), which enables TriCaster TCXD850 and TriCaster TCXD300 users to customize their live virtual sets. Each NewTek TriCaster comes with network-style virtual sets developed using proprietary NewTek LiveSet™ technology.

With TriCaster VSE, network style high definition (HD) virtual sets can be customized with logos, color schemes, furniture options, talent placement and more. TriCaster VSE will be showcased at SATIS, the business gathering for audiovisual professionals, 19-21 October 2010 in Paris Porte de Versailles, on stand 08, hall 7.3 and at Rhein-Main-Event at ZDF on 26+27 October 2010.

TriCaster VSE is accessed from the HD TriCaster control panel, using functions familiar to TriCaster users such as position, scale, rotation, color correction (brightness, hue, contrast and saturation), media browser for image selection, and the T-bar to set custom start and end points for zooms. Once a TriCaster virtual set has been customized it is automatically saved for use in live production.

NewTek TriCaster Virtual Set Editor provides the ability to

• Change or insert logos into the virtual sets
• Customize the “beginning” and “end” zoom, and pan positions
• Change the color of selected elements in the virtual sets
• Change background images
• Switch background monitors on and off
• Switch furniture (including desks and other furniture options) on and off, allowing easy creation of standing sets
• Position and scale green screen talent area to accommodate multiple people whether sitting or standing.

The NewTek TriCaster Virtual Set Editor

With TriCaster, anyone can simultaneously produce, live stream, broadcast, project and record HD and SD network-style productions. A single operator or small team can switch between multiple cameras, virtual inputs and live virtual sets, while inserting clips, titles and motion graphics with multi-channel effects. TriCaster is used by broadcasters, sports organizations, schools, houses of worship, government agencies and others to provide a new level of extended programming and content to their audiences.

Pricing and Availability

The NewTek TriCaster Virtual Set Editor will retail in Europe for 895 € + VAT. The product is scheduled for release Q4 2010. The TriCaster family of products in multi-standard is available in Europe beginning at 5 995 € + VAT.
