Neutrik proudly presented the new opticalCON ADVANCED series at prolight+sound 2012 in Frankfurt am Main

Neutrik, the specialist for connectors and connection systems in the entertainment industry established the opticalCON fiber connection system already in 2005. The reliable and simple concept has proven its ruggedness and low maintenance requirements which led to a wide acceptance in the pro audio and broadcast industry.

With the increased use and rising prevelance of the opticalCON fiber connection system the requirements for the system continued to growth. Neutrik accepted the challenge by optimizing the existing system and expanding the range of accessories.

Neutrik develops the opticalCON system further and makes it even more robust by adding lockable and water proofed metal cap especially for outdoor applications as well as rubber guards. The ergonomically cable strain relief improves the cable protection and water resistance in long-term use, and the color-coding options allow custom-built coding.

Neutrik | opticalCON MTP ® cable and chassis connector
Neutrik expands its fiber optic connector range opticalCON by a version optimized in compactness and high number of fibers, the opticalCON MTP®. The ruggedized and dirt-protected 12-channel fiber optic connection system based on MTP® technology („Multifiber-Push-on“) is widespread in the Telecom / Data technology. MTP® connectors are compatible with the MPO technology („Multifiber-Push-on“) and nominated for IEC-61754-7. Due to the extremely small outer diameter and the robust design the opticalCON MTP® is the perfect solution for long cable runs and point-to-point wiring. The system is based on the successful opticalCON QUAD and optimized for mobile applications in the broadcast and pro audio section. The can be cleaned easily without any tools, and also dust and water resistant according to IP65 if mated.

The opticalCON MTP® cable connector is characterized by the robust all-metal housing and the heavy-duty strain relief. The innovative spherical dust cover protects the fiber from contamination and minimizes maintenance. The color-coded cable connector is pre-assembled and available in a variety of mobile field cables.

The rear compatibility of opticalCON MTP® connector fitting with standard MTP® / MPO breakout cable allows easy adaptation to fiber standard connectors such as LC, SC, ST. The approved dust cover ensures high mating cycles and minimal maintenance. The housing seal is used for color coding and IP protection.
