Mobile Viewpoint launches the first 5G ready bonding device for live video at NAB2018
Aluminum iPhone sleeve
5GLink is a sleeve developed for the first generation 5G phones expected to be available end of this year, beginning 2019. To enable usage right now Mobile Viewpoint adopted the sleeve to fit an iPhone 6 or 7. Later this year sleeves for different phones will be released as well.
First SDI enabled bonding app
The 5GLink is an 3G SDI grabber supporting max 1080P60. Together with the Mobile Viewpoint well Webstreamur app for live streaming, Mobile Viewpoint now delivers the first SDI enabled bonding app featuring Mobile Viewpoint well known IP newsgathering platform LinkMatrix.
The sleeve contains a 5000mAh battery insuring several hours on air without the need to recharge. 5Glink will turn every SDI camera in a Connected Camera and it fits in every camera bag insuring live connections whatever happen.
Quote Michel Bais, Managing Director of Mobile Viewpoint : “During IBC customers expressed their needs for SDI input on their phone to enable cameraman to go live in an emergency or unexpected event. An interesting example is the Sky News camera team being at Zaventem airport with an ENG camera but without bringing one of our units for live contribution. They covered the disaster live using their iPhones which off course does not meet the quality from a real SDI camera. The 5GLink is the unit that fits in your camera bag and with its internal battery insures live also when your battery is almost flat”
The 5Link is available for pre order right now. Delivery will start in May 2018.
