MMC’s Post-Production Services

Isabel Gahlmann explains the latest innovations: “Due to Apple’s product policy, MMC’s postproduction department has decided to rely more on our partner Avid. All available Final Cut suites were equipped with Media Composer 5.5 software and can be used as hybrid suites under Final Cut 7 as well as under Media Composer 5. This allows MMC to edit major projects on a joint platform.

Networking between editing suites, MMC control rooms and the outside world was also greatly enhanced. A FlipFactory (by Telestream), enabling automated format conversion and file serving, is now the network’s centerpiece.

In addition, the ingest workflow for studio productions, which is realized by Telestream pipelines, among others, has been accelerated and simplified through full automation.

Thanks to workflow management, developed by Post-Production Supervisor David Merzenich, and the newly installed solutions by Telestream and Avid, we guarantee a highly effective postproduction process. Our clients benefit from greater flexibility and speed, particularly in major projects and studio productions, where short-term reworks are required.”
