Miranda’s M3 Cable Simplifies Router-to-Multiviewer Connectivity

.

Miranda Technologies, a Belden Brand, a global provider of integrated solutions for production, playout and delivery systems for television broadcasters and multi-system operators, announces the introduction of the M3 integration cable, which vastly simplifies router to multiviewer connectivity.

The Miranda 3Gbps router integration cable replaces 16 coax cables and connectors by assimilating them into a single, high-density cable structure, enabling seamless integration between Miranda NVISION routers and Kaleido-Modular-X and Kaleido-MX multiviewers for integrators and installers while reducing costs.

Ideal for production studio control rooms, mobile production environments or those who just need a tightly integrated router and multiviewer connection, the M3 provides ultra-fast installation, easy reconfiguration and a highly simplified cable management system. Moreover, the M3’s support of SMPTE 424M ensures that pristine 3Gbps video can be transported across double the cable length of competitive offerings. Additionally, the use of fewer cables sharply reduces interconnect complexity, cable volume and weight. Not only does this improve cooling by removing obstacles to ventilation, it saves the time and expense of acquiring and deploying multiple lengths of traditional cabling.

Scott Murray, Miranda’s senior vice president, Core Products, said, “This type of flexible, yet highly integrated, connectivity has been needed in our industry for years. Too often, the plethora of cables required to connect routers and multiviewers can be mismatched or insecurely linked, leading to considerable installation delays and frustration for the installers. The M3 cable is specially designed to eliminate those costly delays by vastly reducing the time required to establish a robust, secure and perfectly matched connection.”

The robust combination of NVISION routing linked to Kaleido-MX and Kaleido Modular-X by M3 cables ensures the liberation of premium space in OB trucks and vans.

The cable was developed through a collaborative effort between the Miranda development team and cable experts from within Belden and is manufactured to the exact specifications to optimize this type of connection.

The M3 cable bundle will be seen amongst Miranda’s broad range of IBC 2013 solutions on Stand 8.D41.
