Live Events and More in HD for Slovenian Viewers
Viewer taken closer to the action with HD live events
"As the public service broadcaster for Slovenia, we have a duty to provide the highest quality programming and content to the viewing public as possible, and our commitment to high definition TV services is central to that," said Matjaž Fajdiga, Head of TV engineering, RTV Slovenia. "This project has enabled us to benefit from the experience and expertise of the Ericsson team in order to bring TV services in Slovenia in line with the quality of many others around the world."
The deployment brings more HD content to Slovenian viewers from across the country, meaning that national interest events and programming can be enjoyed at a greater picture and audio quality than ever before. RTV Slovenia’s services consist of three channels – TV Slovenija 1-3 – as well as TV Slovenija HD. Ericsson has supplied RTV Slovenia with a solution for transmitting and receiving the content, enabling a wider roll-out of HD services that provide viewers with an enhanced television experience.
Increased access to HD for Slovenian TV households
"Given the bandwidth challenges faced by broadcasters when deploying HD services, efficiency is a more important consideration than ever before," said Parvaiz Ahsan, Head of EMEIA, Solution Area TV, Ericsson. "This is an exciting development for Slovenian TV viewers. We’re pleased to supply RTV Slovenia with the high quality, reliable solutions it needs to give consumers the content they want to watch, at levels of audio and visual excellence like never before."
