Lawo, renowned German manufacturer of pioneering audio and video broadcast equipment, introduces a series of tutorial videos for their V__pro8 and V__link4 video products. The tutorials are available on Lawo’s YouTube channel and on the company’s website.

In the videos, product specialist Geert Heirbaut explains the basics of these video tools, and also gives deeper insights into individual features like delay management or format conversion.

The Lawo V__pro8 is a compact and cost-effective video processor, providing eight channels of 3G/HD/SD-SDI processing in a single rack unit. The comprehensive feature set includes frame sync, video and audio delay and routing, audio embedding/de-embedding, channel mapping, surround downmixing, up/down/cross conversion, color correction, quad split multi-viewing and AV sync measurement.

Lawo’s V__link4 is a compact 1RU device, designed for production-quality real-time contribution and distribution of 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals via IP networks. V__link4 provides two 10Gbit Ethernet ports and four 1Gbit Ethernet ports as well as MADI and RAVENNA audio-over-IP connectivity. The V__link4’s four Dirac Pro and JPG2000 coding engines are designed to meet the highest demands in video quality and signal transport reliability. In addition, each channel provides also MJPEG and H.264 streams for monitoring applications.
