Lawo celebrated 40th birthday

Ceremony and birthday party in Rastatt

"Through you I have learned that a company can be very successful in a competitive environment without losing dependability and humane respect for the customer." With these words, Gerd Grunwald, laudator at the birthday celebration of the Rastatt family company, addressed founder Peter Lawo. The former NDR Head of TV operations and Deputy Head of Production stated that the responsible approach to business partners, charisma and passion, combined with expert knowledge and everlasting enthusiasm for work, had paved the way to allow the company to develop into what it is today: a global German company with international recognition.

This partnership between Lawo and their customers was the basis for the development of customised products to the mutual benefit of both.

Customers, partners and users, long-time companions and Lawo staff members had been invited. About 350 guests gathered in the festively decorated Badner Hall in Rastatt to celebrate a company that has been founded 40 years ago with real pioneering spirit and whose history is evidence of innovative thinking.

Head of company Philipp Lawo, running the business since his father's retirement ten years ago, described the company history and the often paralleled development of the broadcast technology. From analogue technology to digitally controlled analogue consoles to fully digital systems to the "Networking Audio Systems". With RAVENNA, a technology for the realtime transfer of audio data over IP, Lawo again takes the initiative for an innovative visionary technology.

Philipp Lawo not only described the company history but mentioned also the difficult times when struggling for the optimal solution. But the hard work was followed by success: with the first fully digital mixing console Lawo achieved a breakthrough. The mc console was the first system to be installed also abroad. In the meantime Lawo has partners and customers all over the world and its technology is deployed also at international mega events.

The speeches were followed by an extremely humorous performance of the á capella band "Füenf" from Stuttgart. Musically, the evening closed with the "Lawo Band", a jazz band of Lawo colleagues who performed pieces of the German jazz legend Klaus Doldinger. Both ensembles added an extraordinary touch to the atmosphere which was much applauded by the guests.

Right into the small hours many of the guests used the opportunity for relaxed talks and discussions with their colleagues and partners from the audio and broadcast industry.
