KVM-Matrix ControlCenter-Digital – for the first time at CeBIT 2013

.

CeBIT 2013 – meeting point for decision makers and opinion formers. The most important event for experts from the digital economy gives its visitors the chance for business networking in Hanover, March 5-9. For the first time, Guntermann & Drunck will present its fully modular KVM matrix to the German public.

Full modularity for full flexibility
Flexibility and the possibility to adapt to almost any environment are the most important aspects for IT systems. A modular design is the key to fulfil these requirements and provide a safe investment, which keeps up with all technical advancements. With its first appearance at this year’s CeBIT, G&D’s new KVM matrix switch, the ControlCenter-Digital, is the latest example for modular design. From controller and switch cards over I/O cards up to power packs – the ControlCenter-Digital is fully modular. On top of this, all matrix ports can be used either as input or output ports. And if necessary, even the memory module storing the configuration data can be moved to a new controller card.

Planning the growth of tomorrow already today
Most parts of the KVM matrix can be selected from a variety of computer and user modules. When working on different computers, different video sources can be easily implemented. Video types like VGA, DVI single- and dual-link, DisplayPort as well as multi-video applications broaden the scope of signals. In addition the system supports USB and PS/2 keyboard and mouse, audio, high-speed USB 2.0 and RS232 transparent.

And because size often actually matters, the matrix provides up to 288 ports (systems with 160 and 80 ports are coming soon), which can be cascaded to up to three levels. Now it’s possible to connect an almost unlimited number of computers and users. Compared to other systems at the market, the matrix still remains compact. It’s also important that different types of cables can be used together. Within office buildings, CAT cables transmit distances up to 300 metres between computers and users. But for bridging distances up to several kilometres the matrix takes advantage of fibre optics.

More than switching and extending
The ControlCenter-Digital offers many other features like:
·    Grouping several ports (channel-grouping), which can be switched together thus facilitating installation and usability
·    System and components can be easily expanded through stacking and devices for multi-monitor workstations
·    Implementation in common operating concepts through the support of media controls like AMX, Crestron, VSM and KSC Commander
·    CrossDisplay-Switching offers easy and intuitive operation for users enabling them to switch between computers by mouse

Trust comes with experience
A fact well-known to Guntermann & Drunck. For almost 30 years, the company uses its knowledge about control rooms to provide employees and computers with the best possible working conditions. During this time, G&D developed the reputation of being a leading manufacturer of digital and analogue KVM products for versatile mission-critical and industrial sectors.

G&D’s entire product solutions have been developed by working closely with the leading customers of all relevant industries. Thanks to this cooperation, hardware, functions, redundancy and fallback concepts fit together perfectly.
