Grass Valley T2 iDDR Service Pack 4 Expands Capabilities

The Grass Valley T2 iDDR Service Pack 4 will be available in Q42011

Grass Valley™ announces the upcoming availability of a feature enhancing Service Pack (SP) for the T2™ intelligent Digital Disk Recorder (iDDR).  The newly announced Service Pack (T2 SP4) is the 4th in the succession of service packs for the T2 iDDR, and enhances the capabilities of the T2 iDDR with features such as T2-to-T2 transfer capabilities, AVCHD and XDCAM playback support, enhanced AMP protocol support, and many other features that can extend the T2 iDDR’s usability at live sporting and live entertainment events.

The T2 SP4 is designed to increase the functionality of the T2 iDDR, and updates the T2 with the ability to directly transfer clips or playlists files from one T2 to another, as well as the ability to make a full T2 backup, allowing for better coordination between multiple T2 units.  T2 SP4 also adds the ability for the direct playback of AVCHD (1 out only) and XDCAM EX (1 in/1 out), to allow for a greater diversity of media format compatibility. Batch Capturing for simultaneous playback of multiple T2 systems from a GPI trigger, as well as AMP protocol support is also enhanced which allows for better control of T2 from external control devices.

T2 SP4 also adds a 1-click playback screen, for turnkey accessibility for use at live events, along with an increased interoperability with Grass Valley’s Kayak™ HD video production switcher,  also supporting  HQ MXF files helping to create a better workflow between T2 and EDIUS®.  Added to these features is a GF option, which allows T2 to be used with Ikegami’s GF Series tapeless system.
