Globecast Provides Multiple Services for Cannes Film Festival Coverage

.

Globecast is pleased to announce that it’s providing both ad-hoc outside broadcast (OB) and host broadcaster services at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The 67th edition of the world’s most famous – and glamorous – film festival attracts celebrities from around the world and a global TV audience too. The festival is running from 14th – 24rd May and is being chaired by New Zealand director Jane Campion.

Globecast is providing onsite capabilities for broadcasters who require access to reporting services with a standup position near Cannes’ magnificent harbour, with a view of the port, City (SUQUET) and the world renowned Palais des Festivals. Playout and fully manned live position is available for both SD/HD. Dedicated SNGs and ENG crews on request. The global distribution is via satellite or fibre. These services – booked onsite or via Globecast’s booking facility – allow broadcasters to act fast when required with transmission and satellite costs included so they can quickly file up-to-the-minute reports.

Globecast is also providing international distribution for the host broadcaster via fibre to Paris and satellite for global coverage. Two SNGs are being deployed. Globecast is also supplying monocam when necessary for live interviews, e.g Nicole Kidman’s interview on Tuesday 13th May.
