Fujinon will join Fujifilm Europe Group

In March 2010, Fujifilm Corporation announced that it had decided to absorb its wholly-owned direct subsidiary Fujinon Corporation, Saitama, Japan, as of 1 July 2010. With that Fujifilm Corporation became the legal successor of Fujinon Corporation.

Further to that announcement it has been decided that the reporting lines in Europe will be changed accordingly. As of August 2010 Fujinon (Europe) GmbH will join the Fujifilm Europe group by becoming a subsidiary of Fujifilm Europe GmbH. The change will have no immediate impact on the organizational structure of Fujinon (Europe) GmbH or Fujifilm Europe GmbH.
Fujinon (Europe) GmbH operates mainly in two market segments, namely in endoscopy systems and optical devices business. Combining forces in Europe within one Fujifilm Europe group will enable the company to strengthen and expand its competitive position in the medical systems market and help to meet its business partners’ expectations. With the consolidation, Fujifilm also seeks to accelerate the integration of Fujinon's optical technologies into its imaging, production and organic synthetic technologies to further expand the optical device business.
