EVS paving the way for future live viewing experiences at 2017 NAB show

Live production specialist to demonstrate how EVS technology enables more immersive live programming

At the 2017 NAB Show, EVS will present new connected and creative live technologies for better storytelling and new viewing experiences. EVS’ 2017 NAB booth (SL3816) will be a hub of innovation as attendees see how new IP-based connected infrastructures enable creative teams to deliver better storytelling.

Immersive Live is EVS’ definition of future viewing experiences, where consumers engage with live content including UHD-4K, 360 degree, augmented and contextual replays on any screen. In order to shape this new experience, EVS has developed an ecosystem of Connected Live technology and Creative Live tools.

EVS’ booth (SL3816) will be divided into three demonstration areas showcasing the technology that enables this new viewing experience. Attendees will be able to see solution demos across three distinct production areas: OB trucks, broadcast center/studios and stadiums/arenas. At the NAB show, EVS will showcase how different production sites and crews can connect and create better content together in a truly live environment.

XT4K – more channels, versatile connectivity, better viewing experiences

The new XT4K is built with EVS’ industry-standard loop recording technology and brings four channels of uncompressed UHD-4K on a single 12G-SDI wire or 12 channels of HD/1080p (in ChannelMAX configurations). The server is integrated with native IP technology I/O, XAVC-4K recording and 10-bit HDR support, making it the smartest way to protect your investments while delivering tomorrow’s viewing experiences.

IPWeb, Xplore and IPLink – the collaborative media toolkit

Also at the show will be a series of new tools that lets creative teams instantly access any media assets. This reduces the time-consuming searches and media processing operations within the live environment.
IPWeb will demonstrate how users can remotely access, browse and select content clips, no matter where the user is working from. Xplore gives production teams the ability to view live recorders, create media selections and deliver content without interfering with mobile production truck operations. To enable NLE editors, the latest version of IPLink will also be on display, which gives editors fast, easy access to all media managed by IPDirector.

C-Next and Connected Agent – connecting sites, content and people

Also on display: EVS’ new file-based media exchange and monitoring platform that enable XFile3 for a live connected archive towards broadcast centers, Connected Agent for a simple gateway to content exchange from live OB production trucks and the C-Next platform for monitoring the transfer of media from anywhere. With this kind of connectivity and simple media exchange, production teams can create better live storytelling.

DYVI – software-defined video switching

EVS will demonstrate how flexible and scalable a GPU-based switcher can be when enabled in a software-defined approach, adapting to any live configuration requirements. Production switching can extend well beyond the previous limits of a production switcher and allow a creative execution that frees the hands of a technical director to do more with less. This makes it ideal whether it’s being used in a stadium control room or multi-purpose broadcast center.

All of these solutions from EVS will be displayed on booth SL3816 at the 2017 NAB Show, which runs April 24 – 27, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
