Eurovision Flex, the software driven IP encoding and decoding appliances using Mobile Viewpoint’s award-winning technology, will be showcased at the NAB Show in Las Vegas between 18 and 21 April. NAB Show is the world’s largest tradeshow focusing on broadcast technology.

Eurovision Flex is widely accepted as a tool for cost-effective and fast news gathering worldwide. A new range of services based on the Eurovision Flex platform, including an Intel optimized hardware encoder based HEVC HDR real time codec, will be available for demonstration at the show.

“This digital content exchange service based on advanced video streaming and the Eurovision Fine Network enables the processing and delivery of broadcast quality live, as well as recorded, content through the internet. We are happy to announce the HEVC compression in the FLEX ecosystem thanks to our cooperation with our partner Mobile Viewpoint” said EBU Network Director Graham Warren.

Mobile Viewpoint Managing Director Michel Bais added, “The latest development of CPUs containing hardware acceleration enables Mobile Viewpoint to deploy low power HEVC encoders using Intel based hardware. This is technology whose time has come and will change the complete industry of dedicated video encoding and decoding appliances. The new WMT Live Link is a first product in this new era.”
