David Workman Joins Embrionix as Global OEM Sales Manager
Most recently, Workman served for almost four years as director of sales and business development for Telemetrics Inc., a manufacturer of high-end camera robotics equipment. Other prior positions include vice president, news automation systems, for Vizrt USA; senior director, segment marketing, for Grass Valley; and business development consultant for LucasFilms’ THX Ltd. Earlier in his career, Workman held product/program management and engineering positions for Microsoft Corporation, Abekas Video Systems, and Grass Valley.
Workman holds a degree in electronics technologies from Sierra College and has completed finance coursework in the MBA program at Mt. Saint Mary’s University. He has presented at numerous industry forums, including the SMPTE BBTB Conference, the HBO Comedy Festival, and NAB panel discussions, and he has published articles in the Electronic Engineering Times, Broadcast Engineering, and the SMPTE Motion Imaging Journal.
“Embrionix SFP modules allow broadcast equipment manufacturers to offer a much wider array of IO options in their products, and even provide flexibility to configure finished goods at the last minute with any mix of SDI, fiber, IP, and even HDMI,” said Workman. “These are just some of the reasons why Embrionix modules are being used in more products today than ever before, and I am thrilled to be taking on the challenge to further advance the worldwide distribution of these innovative technologies.”
Embrionix, a subsidiary of Riedel Communications, designs and builds innovative, advanced SMPTE video SFPs to close the gap between fiber optic deployments, coaxial deployments, legacy composite deployments, and emerging technologies, such SDI to IP SFPs. By leveraging its core competencies in video broadcast, the company OEMs highly flexible SFP modules (emSFP) to major manufacturers in the industry. Embrionix headquarters are based in Laval, Quebec. Embrionix sales offices, representatives, and distribution offices are located in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Japan.
