Cobham Adds Broadcast Support to Singapore Office
Gilks has been a senior manager for a number of world-leading technology companies in the international broadcast market for more than 25 years as well as managing her own company focused on developing the Asia Pacific region for emergent broadcast technology companies.
With Cobham, Gilks will be responsible for sales throughout Asia Pacific, including Australia and China, as well as support for Cobham’s existing VAR network in India and throughout Southeast Asia.
Cobham’s Broadcast Systems Director Stuart Brown said, “Sue’s depth of experience, technical expertise and first-hand knowledge of the Asia Pacific marketplace are exceptional assets, not just to Cobham but to our current and prospective customers in the region. We are delighted to have someone of Sue’s calibre on board.”

Gilks’ appointment is effective 3 June and she will continue to be based in Singapore. She will attend Broadcast Asia where visitors can preview one of the world’s smallest wireless HD camera transmitters, Cobham’s new “Solo Micro HD” transmitter, which takes advantage of MPEG encoding for excellent image quality retention in any situation, including mobile and urban environments.
Cobham will also feature a lightweight, easy-to-connect HD MPEG4 IP Encoder specifically engineered for broadcast applications, and Cobham’s IP-based MediaMesh, a rapid set-up field newsroom that enables field reporters to get on air almost instantly.
