BVE North Prepares to Open for Business

Premier Northern event for production, post and content delivery professionals starts Tuesday 13 November 2012

There is just one day to go before BVE North opens its doors to thousands of broadcast and media professionals, who will be presented with a myriad of expert speakers, leading technology manufacturers and suppliers, and invaluable networking opportunities throughout 13-14 November 2012 at the Manchester Central venue.

Visitors will be well advised to work out their schedules in advance and arrive early to secure their seats at the hugely popular free seminar sessions. BVE North has four theatres running a diverse range of topics, covering everything from screenwriting tips and content funding to audio post techniques to the latest tapeless workflow technology. Newly announced sessions include Sony presenting ‘TheNewF: The Future, ahead of schedule’, a session on its brand new F series at 12.30 each day in the Sony Theatre, and ‘3D Production Pipelines’ with Autodesk Smoke, presented by Autodesk experts at 15.20 on Tuesday and 10.45 on Wednesday in the Broadcast Theatre.

Those seeking careers advice should visit the Skills Zone. New for BVE North 2012, these informal hour-long sessions offer not-to-be-missed careers advice free of charge from expert practitioners in the industry. Inaddition, BECTU and recruitment specialists The Crewing Co will be delivering CV advice at the show on Stand C80. Places for the 15 minute slots are limited so visitors should book early on the day.

Many exhibitors will be running live demonstrations including Mediaspec (Stand F13), who will have Avid's leading UK product specialist, Simon Sherbourne, putting Pro Tools HD Native Thunderbolt through its paces, while Holdan (Stand C29) has a programme of demonstrations including the new Blackmagic camera.

And as if more incentive were needed to attend the show, BVE North is offering two lucky attendees the chance to win £500 towards a training course (terms and conditions apply). Entrants must pre-register, or register onsite, and attend BVE North on either of the show days. A winner will be chosen at random on each day of the exhibition, with the lucky attendees being announced at 5.30pm on the first day and 4pm on the second day.
