Broadcast Rental adds Sony SuperSloMo to Fleet

The Ultimate SuperSloMo Camera Sony HDC-3300R

European rental company, Broadcast Rental, has announced the addition of the extremely popular Sony HDC-3300R super motion camera to its expanding fleet of specialist cameras.

Able to capture 3x speed at full HD resolution, the HDC-3300R is an increasingly popular choice for sports broadcasting throughout Europe, and is even being used on 3D shoots. It's an extremely adaptable unit: the CCU connects to the camera via optical fibre, allowing cable runs of up to 2500 metres, while it also crucially provides real-time, normal-speed images. "This output is available simultaneously with the Super Motion output, allowing users to employ the HDC-3300R for both  slow-motion and standard shooting purposes for increased versatility," comments Geert Paul Slee.

Slee reports that interest so far has come from broadcasters and production companies covering all sorts of fast-moving sports, and Broadcast Rental’s unit has so far been used on everything from Cycling, Soccer, Icehockey to Table Tennis and Boxing.

“Together with the Sony HDLA 1505 supporting a HDVF-EL75 7.4-inch OLED viewfinder and a EVS XT[3] server it’s a unique and powerful combination,” he says. “There is no extra cabling to consider - it works like a dock station - and it maximises available camera positions. On top of that it is also very reliable, and that, as always, is the key for successful OB.”
