Belden Integrates Telecast Fiber Systems into Miranda Brand

Complementary portfolios provide exceptional value for the market

Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, announces that its Telecast Fiber Systems brand is being integrated into its recently acquired Miranda brand. Telecast becomes a featured product brand under the Miranda umbrella, which now boasts the only solutions portfolio in the industry that connects broadcast and related workflows from content acquisition through playout. Multiple examples of Miranda/Telecast applications were on display at IBC 2012 at Miranda’s stand.

Belden, with Miranda’s routing, infrastructure and monitoring solutions and Telecast’s fiber connectivity portfolio, now offers solutions from camera to control room and beyond. This unique capability to impact content production provides convenience, improved efficiency and flexibility for customers in a critical, rapidly changing, resource constrained area.

“The goal is to improve the customer experience,” said Strath Goodship, president of Miranda. “By offering our customers a single-call solution for sales, deployment and support — from acquisition through playout — we’re offering great value. By integrating our technological resources and developing new solutions that open new doors for our customers, we’ll deliver value that no other supplier can.”

On display at IBC were two new demonstrations that highlighted the complementary nature of the Miranda and Telecast portfolios. In the first, a Telecast CopperHead transceiver was mounted to a camera feeding signals via fiber to and from the Miranda truck production demonstration. In the other, a small POV (point of view) camera was the centerpiece of an interactive demonstration that highlighted the efficiency of fiber connectivity through remote monitoring and robotic control.
