Atlantis Audio has become one of the first rental companies to invest in the latest addition to the Philips Vari-Lite product line the VL4000 Spot, purchasing twelve units from major Philips distributor Lightpower.

Founded in 1995, Atlantis Audio has since established itself as a creative full service technology partner for events of every size. The company therefore decided to invest in Philips' award-winning luminaire to further boost its technological offering.

"After seeing the power of the VL4000 Spot in action, we knew it would be a wise idea to invest," says owner of Atlantis Audio Volkmar Kusch. "Compared with spotlights of this level by other manufacturers, the VL4000 Spot wins by a mile. In terms of brightness and image quality, there isn't a device that can beat it in my opinion."

The VL4000 Spot boasts 33,000 lumens in its standard mode, whilst outputting 25,000 in its ultra quiet Studio mode. It also offers designers high-resolution optics which ensure remarkable center-to-edge focusing and its 5:1 zoom ratio covers an amazing 9 to 47 degrees without sacrificing output or clarity.

"As the feature-rich VL4000 Spot can be employed in a wide range of applications, we are very happy with our decision to bring it on board," continues Kusch. "We're especially impressed with its four-blade shutter system."

The luminaire is also fitted with dual rotating gobo wheels, each with seven patterns plus open. This new collection of optimized gobo patterns for both aerial and projected imagery provides unlimited possibilities. In addition, its dual animation wheels provide dynamic motion effects as well as the chromatically tuned Dichro*Fusion effect.

"It is definitely a new highlight in our stock and we expect to see it on a number of events in the near future," says Kusch.

Visitors to this year's Prolight + Sound show will be able to see the VL4000 Spot in Hall 11 on stand D71. The event takes place between the 15 and 18 of April at the Messe in Frankfurt.
