ATG Broadcast, a leading designer and supplier of production, post-production and playout systems for the global broadcast market, reports a highly successful BVE 2011. Exhibiting both as a systems integrator and broadcast product distributor, the company experienced high visitor attendance at its stand on all three days of the 15-17 February event which was held in London's Earls Court exhibition centre.

"BVE has developed from being primarily a show for independent programme-makers into a serious exhibition attracting attendees from mainstream UK television and radio networks," states ATG Broadcast Managing Director Graham Day. "Visitors to our stand also came from overseas regions including mainland Europe and Scandinavia. Having only just returned from exhibiting at CABSAT in Dubai, we were particularly pleased to meet visitors from North Africa who had travelled all the way to London.

"A lot of interest was generated by the Viewcast range of IPTV streaming equipment which we now offer to the UK broadcast market. Demand for SD and HD IPTV systems is growing strongly as mainstream broadcasters expand their post-transmission online programme services. The Apple iPad is rapidly increasingly the popularity of wi-fi-based mobile television viewing, both live streaming and video podcasting. Television audiences understandably expect a reasonably large image size even if they are travelling. The iPad along with similar reception and display platforms being introduced by other manufacturers currently offer a much better viewing experience than miniature-screen wi-fi devices and mobile phones.

"Not everyone in broadcasting has the time or budget to attend IBC, let alone NAB, so national events such as BVE look set to enjoy a healthy future."
