AEQ Joins RAVENNA Community

ALC NetworX is an R&D company in Munich, Germany: A team of experts with excellent reputation from the Pro Audio industry

Following a series of partnership announcements around IBC, ALC NetworX now welcomes another well-known manufacturer from the broadcast industries to the RAVENNA community: With the Spanish company AEQ, one of the finest manufacturers of broadcasting equipment decided to support the RAVENNA open-standard media networking technology.

Rogelio de la Fuente, President & CEO, AEQ: “To offer solutions that will render simplicity and cost efficiency to any broadcast application is, and has always been, the prime objective to AEQ. Having a long track record in the field of audio encoding, we have also always sought the maximum compatibility with other manufacturers, guaranteeing maximum flexibility to customers. Being committed to continue offering standard and non-propriety solutions to the world broadcasting community, we took the strategic decision to implement IP for its audio networking solutions in 2006. AEQ is also adopting the EBU N/ACIP recommendations for AoIP contributions over WANs, taking actively part in the working group.

The embracing of the RAVENNA protocol by AEQ becomes really natural. The RAVENNA environment offers standards that are based upon existing ones and at the same time being open. This is without any doubt perfectly in line with what to AEQ is a maximum in IP audio networking. RAVENNA to AEQ does not become an objective "per se" but rather a mean to ensure that the broadcast industry advances towards the international normalisation of AoIP networking.

The growing support for the RAVENNA community underlines the strong demand for an IP-based media distribution solution based on open technology and standards.”
