Christie Solaria Series Stars at Cannes

Christie - a leading innovator in film projection since 1929

The Cannes International Film, founded in 1946, is the most prestigious film festival in the world. The 64th edition took place in May at the Palais des Festivals. With a reported budget of approximately 20 million Euros, and record breaking attendance of over 65,000 people, Christie, Technical Partner for the fifth year in succession, provided digital projection technology and supported all digital cinema screenings during the Festival programme.

Robert De Niro and Brad Pitt may well have been amongst the celebrity line-up , but the real stars of the festival were the Christie Solaria Series Digital Cinema projectors, the CP Series 2, which screened digital titles in competition for the Palme d’Or throughout the entire Festival, including The Marchщ du Film, the biggest event in the international film industry. The 64th Film Festival most certainly marked a milestone for Christie, for the first time in the Cannes festival programme there were more digital screenings than film screenings.
