New Professional 24" 3D Production Monitor

JVC adds DT-3D24G1 screen to its expanding range of 3D products

JVC Professional will launch its latest professional 3D monitor, the new 24” DT-3D24G1, this summer. Ideal for use in editing suites, the DT-3D24G1 provides a comfortable working environment with a range of significant production tools. The compact screen supports virtually any 3D camera setting, with advanced measurement tools to confirm that left and right images have been properly aligned.

Equipped with proven technology from the DT-V Series of monitors series – including an IPS panel, switchable colour space, high-resolution, dual time code, waveform and vectorscope – the new 3D monitor accepts and processes signals from dual camera systems, stereo-rigs and coded Side-by-Side and Line-by-Line 3D signals.

With its Xpol® Circular Polarising System - compatible with widely available RealD 3D glasses - the DT-3D24G1 displays 3D images that can be seen using inexpensive polarised (passive) glasses, which avoids potential flicker and power issues associated with active shutter glasses. With no need to synchronise glasses with the display, the monitor is ideal for viewing environments where multiple displays are used, such as control rooms or production trucks. Plus, the compact DT-3D24G1 can be battery powered, making it ideal for location shoots. Uniquely, the monitor has a built-in 3D scale function that allows you to measure the amount of binocular disparity by pixels or percentage in real time. This is critical to broadcast delivery specifications, where they are very strict with positive and negative parameters.

The DT-3D24G1 also offers a number of tools for checking 3D signals, including a 3D cursor that enables binocular disparity to be easily adjusted for optimised 3D effects. Other 3D features include unique 3D measurement markers for left and right channels, mirror/rotation of one channel for dual-camera rigs, split left/right signals for fine tuning camera positions as well as iris and white balance, and left/right sequential display. In addition, a left/right swap allows users to check whether cables from the camera(s) to the monitor are connected properly.

Beyond 3D functions, the DT-3D24G1 offers 1920x1200 pixel resolution with 10-bit digital processing and 3G and dual link HD-SDI inputs. The monitor also offers 2.2, 2.35, 2.45, and 2.6 gamma presets, displays up to 12 channels of audio, supports LTC/VITC time code and ITU-709 colour gamut.
