Japan ProAV Market Leader Establishes North American Sales & Support Subsidiary in Greater New York City Area, Prioritizes 4K-UHD and ProAV Over IP Technologies

For more than 26 years, IDK Corporation has been leading the ProAV market in Japan with advanced products and innovative technology, specializing in the education, corporate and digital signage markets, successfully deliver cost effective solutions for class rooms, conference facilities, command and control centers, and for event/staging venues.

Founded in 1989 to manufacture video cables and RGB splitters for professional AV applications, IDK Corporation expanded early into matrix and presentation switchers, earning a reputation for great value by delivering a combination of high performance and flexible functionality at competitive pricing. IDK’s impressive record of ProAV innovations includes world’s firsts like the first digital presentation switcher to feature a built-in Scan Converter. IDK was an early adopter of HDMI in 2007 and of HDBase-T in 2010.

Product Priority: 4K-UHD including 60p
IDK is in the process of completing the expansion of its ProAV product lines to be fully 4K-UHD compliant in 2016. Some currently shipping key 4K-UHD products include:
-          4K Fiber Optic /CATx Extenders
-          4K Distribution Amplifiers
-          4K Presentation Switchers
IDK offers real 4K support, up to 4K-60p 4:4:4, and HDCP2.2 compliance.

Product Priority: IP Switching and Networking
The entire professional television world, including ProAV, is in the process of moving media transport, transmission and distribution from dedicated one video/audio signal per one cable to packetized IP networking where multiple video/audio signals can be carried bi-directionally on a single cable (i.e. twisted pair or fiber optic). Simultaneously with the opening of the U.S. subsidiary, IDK is introducing its IP-NINJAR product line initially comprising extension links, enabling IP networking of ProAV signals and switching through COTS (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf) available 10GbE/40GbE IP Routers.
