HDI Ltd. Reveals Laser-Driven 2D/3D Switchable Dynamic Video Projection TV Technology at NAB

3D Video Projection

HDI Ltd. is proud to announce it will debut its laser-driven 100-inch 2D/3D Switchable Dynamic Video Projection Television, which features a Greater Than High-Definition Resolution, utilizing HDlogix’s revolutionary ImageIQ® 3D conversion technology, at the HDlogix Booth at NAB: #SL 10205 in LVCC Hall S2.

A natural 3D viewing experience

HDI Ltd. has completely eliminated the adverse effects, such as migraines, dizziness, and nausea, long associated with substandard 3D display technology. HDI Ltd. delivers the most immersive, comfortable, and natural 3D viewing experience in the world with low-cost and lightweight proprietary polarized glasses

First announced in September 2009 after more than three years of intensive R&D, HDI Ltd.’s laser-driven 100-inch diagonal 2D/3D Switchable Dynamic Video Projection Display delivers a stunningly superior 2D image, with a 50% greater resolution than today’s digital cinemas, and derives its greater-than-high definition stereoscopic 1920 x 1080p “3D” image quality from two RGB laser-illuminated Liquid Crystal on Silcon (LCOS) micro display imagers. At full 1080p HD, the HDI Ltd. screen refreshes at 360 fields per-second on each eye, the fastest refresh rate on any mass produced television or projector.

Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computers, calls HDI Ltd., “Without a doubt, the best demonstration of 3D technology I have ever seen,” Technology journalist Richard Hart states, “The smoothest yet, and smoothness means no headaches,” and Sean Portnoy of ZDNet.com, wrote, “We could be looking at a Holy Grail of sorts for the next generation of television.”

HDlogix will demonstrate support for multiple 3D formats

HDI Ltd.’s display technology will be utilized in the HDlogix NAB exhibit. HDlogix, a leading provider of 3D video products and services, offers television networks and movie studios the ability to convert 2D HDTV broadcast feeds to 3D either in real time or in post-production. HDlogix will demonstrate support for multiple 3D formats (anaglyph, polarized, and shutter lens), and use a 2D HD camera to capture live HD footage, which will be displayed instantly in 3D.

Linda Hardesty of Cable360.net states, “HDlogix… has come up with an innovation that may finally help advance 3D,” and Evie Haskell of MediaBiz.com says, “For my money, the early winner here might be HDlogix… which does its 3D magic by math.”

Ingemar Jansson, President and Co-Founder of HDI Ltd., states, “It’s a privilege for HDI Ltd. to co-launch its technology in partnership with HDlogix at NAB 2010. We anticipate demonstrations of HDlogix’s real-time 2D-to-3D conversion technology on our 2D/3D Switchable Dynamic Video Projection Television to be one of the biggest hits of NAB, and the relationship between the two firms could potentially set the standard for high-def 3D broadcast content delivery and presentation.”
