2D-3D Conversion during the AVManifestatie 2010

AVManifestatie 19. + 20. May 2010, Hilversum

Last month is was said that that 3D movies already accounted for 33 percent of the box office revenues this year and this was achieved by only four films. People are willing to pay more to see 3D, hence 3D content has more value than 2D content.

Although the 2010 FIFA World Cup will be recorded and broadcasted in 3D, the total amount of 3D content will be limited in the near future. Because 3D TVs, 3D broadcast channels and 3D cinemas pop up like daisies, content owners develop a growing need to get their 2D content converted to a 3D format. A logical thought, whereas enough interesting 2D content is available, to which value can be added by converting this content to 3D.

2D-to-3D conversion is of great importance for organisations in sectors such as broadcast, featured films and advertising. Therefore Zero Creative will bring a keynote about this subject during the AVManifestatie, one of the most important events for the AV-sector in The Netherlands. This keynote presentation will describe both the advantages and disadvantages of 2D-to-3D conversion, how conversions can be performed and the markets for converted content.

During the event, Zero Creative will also demonstrate its 2D-to-3D conversion service and its special xyZ 3D Displays, that show real 3D without any 3D-glasses. All of this as well as examples of the companies 3D Digital Signage applications can be seen in its booth, number 2.
