Pixel Power 3D TV Branding Demo at NAB 2010 Shows Cost-Effective Upgrade Path for Customers

3D TV Branding

Pixel Power, Ltd., a leading provider of broadcast graphics systems, today began demonstrating a solution for adding stereoscopic 3D branding graphics to broadcast channels. On display April 12-15 at NAB 2010 in Las Vegas, Stand N2034, the demonstration uses Pixel Power's standard Clarity™ 3000 graphics hardware with a preview of an enhanced version of the Clarity 3D software option to add 3D channel branding graphics to incoming video.

Creating 3D graphics is nothing new for Pixel Power

"We are very excited not only to show what can be done in the Stereoscopic 3D arena with our products, but to do it in a way that offers our customers a cost effective and non-disruptive migration path across all three of our product ranges," said Pixel Power Inc. CEO Pete Challinger.

The software upgrade for Stereoscopic 3D will be available for all 3D-capable Clarity, LogoVision™ and BrandMaster™ systems from Pixel Power. It will integrate with the existing 3D object creation and timeline editing tools provided as part of Clarity 3D.

Pixel Power is already working with a number of existing high profile broadcast clients to implement stereoscopic 3D in their transmission chains.

"Creating 3D graphics is nothing new for Pixel Power, in fact we were doing it 20 years ago!" said Challinger. "The difficulty comes in real-world implementation where you need to know the position of background video objects in Z space in order to correctly position the 3D branding elements. So far there are no standards for passing this data, so it is critically important that we work cooperatively with our users as they develop their own workflows."
