The companies broadcasted live 3D the football match between Portugal and Cameroon
The football match between the national team of Portugal and Cameroon has been the second event broadcast live 3D, after the Tenis Estoril Open, and with the alliance of both companies. The match took place last June 1 at the Portuguese sports complex of Covilha and ended in victory for the home team by 3 goals to 1. The Portuguese cable operator ZON-TV Cabo broadcasted live stereo signal of the game to all Portugal.
A total of seven camera positions were implemented in the new 3D OB van unit, highlighting the fact that for the first time, one of the positions was covered by a wireless stereo Steadicam camera by RF control.
The stereoscopic transmission was possible thanks to the agreement reached between the companies Kronomav and Medialuso just a few months ago. The aim then was to have the first HD3D OB van operating in the spring of 2010. The new agreement aims to serve all the demand that exists today for sporting and cultural content in 3D, both live and non live. The geographic scope of the world will be developed at different stages within an ambitious business plan. To achieve this, more HD3D mobile units will be manufactured and further developement on the technology for 3D events will be done, including the creation of new models of Rigs (stereoscopic robotic platforms).
