The Euskalduna Palace played host to the first 3D football broadcast in the Basque Country

Atlético Madrid – Athletic Club Bilbao Match: Media sports marketing organized the event sponsored by Seat and BBVA

The Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao was the venue chosen to host the broadcast of the game, which saw 300 Seat and BBVA guests in attendance being able to enjoy the unbelievable 3D viewing experience. An 80-square metre screen coupled with Dolby 5.1sound, with no commentary, allowed the guests to literally be part of the game and yet get the chance to see moments of the match which can only be enjoyed on a television screen. The guests wore non-disposable active 3Dglasses for the broadcast.

As in previous live 3D productions, with technology developed by MEDIAPRO 3D (the R+D department, Kronomav and Medialuso) match coverage was carried out with in-house technology. There were 8 3D camera positions in the Vicente Calderón Stadium for the satellite broadcast in 3DHD side-by-side format from the ground in Madrid to the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao.

In addition, SEAT and BBVA offered their guests catering services in a special hospitality area from 16.00 as well as setting up exclusive match specific promotional stands.

In the BBVA corner, fans tried their hand at the “Game of your Life” virtual game of football.

Media sports marketing, a MEDIAPRO group company, was responsible for the organisation of the event which saw a host of famous faces from Basque society and the sports world in attendance. Over the course of the rest of the season, Media sports marketing will organise further 3D broadcasts of high-profile games in the BBVA League, in the visiting team’s city with emblematic buildings playing host to the coverage.
