SERVICES

Headquartered in the UK and with premises in Holland, Broadcast Networks offers a complete systems integration service to an international client base. With more than 20 years experience behind it, Broadcast Networks specialises in the design and implementation of HD and SD Master Control Rooms, studio systems, Outside Broadcast vehicles, On Location communications, satellite uplinks and facilities for streaming media.

Broadcast Networks begins each project with a thorough client consultation during which commercial, technical and operational objectives and realities are identified. In every case the aim is to maximise client budgets and reduce risk by providing cost-effective solutions that properly fit the customers’ needs. The services offered by Broadcast Networks include design, technical advice, project management, equipment installation, coachbuilding and staff training. Customers can access any of these services at any stage during their project.

In recent years much of Broadcast Networks business has involved moving broadcasters into the High Definition environment, both through new deployments and refurbishments of existing infrastructure to bring it up to the latest HD specifications. The company has extensive experience in this area, having undertaken major HD projects for clients such as OB Team in Norway, Chellomedia in Holland, ITV in the UK and SBP in Italy.

Broadcast Networks Managing Director Tom Haye says customers always worry when deploying new technology and the migration to High Definition has brought a lot of these concerns to the fore.

“They worry that they might not choose the right equipment or they might face extensive downtime during installation,” he explains. “These are legitimate commercial and operational concerns because building a new facility or OB truck from scratch is expensive. One solution is to refurbish existing facilities. This provides a less risky migration into HD because it allows broadcasters to re-use some of the equipment they are already familiar with. Our expertise in this area means that we can carry out refurbishments without creating interruptions or downtime. One of our customers described it as akin to conducting open heart surgery on someone running a marathon, and that is a good analogy. Our experience makes refurbishment a smart and cost effective option.”

Supporting business development and providing the correct technical solutions is an approach that has served Broadcast Networks well for more than 20 years. Much of its business is repeat business, indicating the high regard with which the company is held by its customer base.

“As systems integrators it is our job to help customers choose the right and most cost effective solutions for their facility,” Haye adds. “We have a wealth of experience in helping customers make the right decisions so that they achieve the results they want.”
