Airtime's Wingcam at the FIS Alpine World Championships in St Moritz

The Wingcam spans a length of 1,150m and runs above the women's racetrack with insight into the lower range of all disciplines of women and men. The line was designed and worked out together with SRG SSR TV director Beni Giger. The system is stretched between only two 18 m masts, which were also provided by Airtime Unlimited GmbH. The lower mast is connected to the Nüssli main stand at the finish area and and was manually erected. The upper mast was flown in as one piece with the helicopter and mounted on prepared ground anchors. This practice is often used when the Wingcam is used in alpine competitions.

Domo Broadcast on track with Mumbai Marathon

DTC, Domo Broadcast has announced its SOLO HD transmitters and PRORXD 8-Way Diversity RF system was used for coverage of the 2017 Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon on 15 January.

The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon is an annual international marathon held in Mumbai, India, on the third Sunday of January every year. It is the largest marathon in Asia as well as the largest mass participation sporting event on the continent. It is also the richest race in India with a prize pool of USD $350,000.

IMG Norway invests in SAM’s LiveTouch

Snell Advanced Media (SAM) today announced that IMG Norway has selected its LiveTouch system to produce replay and highlights packages for its live horse racing coverage. The system is used to create instant content for its live studio show which broadcasts races from selected tracks in Norway, Sweden, Denmark  France, and various other international races, as well as to produce replay and highlights packages for its pre-recorded magazine show. IMG Norway worked closely with Mediability, SAM’s reseller partner for Norway, Sweden and Denmark during the system design, implementation and training stages of the project.

Launch of the Longines Live Alpine Data System

At the FIS Alpine Ski Championships in St. Moritz, Longines presented the game-changing Longines Live Alpine Data system, consisting of a chip attached to the skier’s boot equipped with a radar and motion sensor. The Longines Live Alpine Data technology enables the real-time and continuous measurement of the athlete’s speed, acceleration and deceleration, the time it takes to reach a defined speed (e.g. 80km/h or 100km/h). The system also analysis of jumps of the athletes (speed before and after the jump and the lengths of the jump).

IBU World Championships Biathlon 2017 in Hochfilzen

Returns to Portugal and Germany will complete 2017 Red Bull Air Race calendar

After weeks of anticipation, locations for two key stops that will round out the 2017 Red Bull Air Race calendar have been announced; and while both are in Europe, they’ll test the skills of the World Championship pilots in distinctly different ways. On 2-3 September, the raceplanes will take off at the classic Air Racing destination of Porto, Portugal for the first time since 2009. When the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons took the field for Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, Professional Wireless Systems (PWS) was on-site once again, working closely with Karl Voss and the NFL Game Day Coordinators (GDC’s), to supply RF management for the NFL referees and the on-field entertainment. ATK/Versacom partnered with PWS to bring to life the spectacular halftime performance by Lady Gaga, as well as the proceedings just before the game.
