Antena 3, the Spanish TV channel, is revolutionising newcasting with its brand new studio and original broadcasting style. The new set for the Antena 3 Noticias news programme, in preparation since the summer, debuted on January 10th with a primetime interview with José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, President of the Spanish Government. The new studio is spread over an area of 1,200m2 and is equipped with groundbreaking technological resources including a production system unprecedented in Spain.

For the second time since 1978 Garmisch-Partenkirchen was the “heart of alpine skiing” for two weeks. The host broadcasting operation for this year’s most spectacular winter event was in the hands of GAP TV2011, a joint venture of ARD and ZDF. Under the leadership of ZDF the host broadcaster took care of the production of the international signals of all the competitions (Super-G, Downhill, Super Combined, Nations Team Event, Giant Slalom, Slalom), and the services to unilateral broadcasters from 8th to 20th February.

CAMPUS TV is the first digital HD TV channel in Honduras and Central America. They broadcast from Sula's Valley and their signal spreads across all national and international cable systems and via satellite. Their central studios are located in the new and modern University Tower 'Jorge Emilio Jaar'.

French TV station TV Rennes 35, local TV station TyTélé and systems integrator PAD are at the forefront of a technological revolution. Starting with a creative concept, they have developed a fully mobile TV station in the form of an OB van using professional, yet affordable and simple to use equipment. “This is a new concept,” describes Jean-Luc Nelle, General Manager of TV Rennes 35. “The entire TV station is run from within the van.”

To function as a real reference, they have to deliver images with an accurate, reliable color balance. In the early 1970s, VRT, the public broadcaster for the Flemishspeaking part of Belgium (6 million people), used Barco reference monitors to guarantee the seamless transition from black and white to color TV production.

Montreal's Modus FX recently delivered all of the visual effects for Anton Corbijn’s The American. The thriller, which stars George Clooney, tells the story of a man who makes weapons for assassins trying to escape from his past. Set in Italy, where the protagonist has come for his final assignment, the film features lush landscapes and evocative small-town settings. In all, Modus completed 125 shots for the film, many of which were technically and artistically demanding.

GOL Television is a 24/7 football channel that is produced in full HD based on a tapeless workflow. The channel provides viewers with live and recorded broadcasts, match highlights, news bulletins, as well as all of the goals from the major European and South American football leagues.

Appointed as the Host Broadcaster for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa, HBS has decided to renew its successful collaboration with EVS for the supply of instant tapeless technology and support services during the production of this world class event. The Production Plan for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ is based on standards ‘substantially similar’ to the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, with some innovations and improvements. The uplink system comes in a range of sizes from 0.75m in diameter through 1.3m, all of which are lightweight at under 23kg each and are compliant with the package size regulations set out by the IATA. Crucially, they can be loaded as normal baggage on aircraft.

The history of Benfica TV (BTV) channel came to light from within the club itself. The project isowned by the Sport Lisboa e Benfica club (51% of the capital) and by the SAD (the remaining49%). After the constitution of Benfica TV as a legal body and the final decision on its managementmodel, Benfica TV starts broadcasting in 2008. It broadcasts live full matches, interviews with staff, players, and historic matches, as well as other sports.

In the history of Olympic broadcasting, CTV’s production was unique. The incredible number of hours broadcast was unprecedented. The production model had never been used before. In the end it was an overwhelming success. The number of viewers had never been seen before in Canadian broadcasting. It has become a defining moment in Canadian Television history.
