Robe FORTE now available at CGS DRY HIRE
Rental company CGS Dry Hire, based in Denkendorf in southern Germany – known nationwide as CGS – and headed by Christian Geyer, relies on a large number of Robe’s just launched FORTE high powered LED moving lights, which have just been delivered via Robe Germany. These are now available for dry hire at CGS. These are the first FORTES to be received in Germany and have been included in the rental stock of CGS for general lighting equipment – with Christian looking ahead to when the industry re-starts as pandemic lockdown rules start being eased.
Robe France Launches Robe Awards 2021 Event
whittled down from over 160 initial entrants – to battle it out in person at Les Studios de la Montjoie in the La Plaine St Denis area near Paris … where they utilised a full Robe lighting rig. It all started just ahead of the pandemic and lockdowns, when a succession of conversations took place – first ones were in fact over a year ago and between Sebastien Dendele, president of rental company MursDeLeds (MDL), and well-known TV lighting operator Yannick Duc who have been friends and colleagues for over a decade, both sharing a huge passion for lighting!

Robe Gets a drive at WRC Rally Estonia
Estonian rental company Strikken supplied the lighting design and production design and equipment for the Power Stage Live TV podium, which welcomed the 2020 winners of Rally Estonia event – part of the World Rally Championship (WRC) – and was set up close to the final stage finish line, near Rally Estonia’s HQ in Tartu. They relied on the power and versatility of Robe moving lights including LEDWash 300s, LEDWash 800s and MMX Spots to deliver spectacular looking results. The luminaires were picked for their compact size, light weight, and brightness, and all rigged on the stage ground support structure together with some outrigged pipes facilitating the front positions.

The latest series of ‘Take Me Out Mzanzi’ – aired on M-Net’s Mzanzi Magic network in South Africa market – was recorded over 6 weeks at Sasani Studios in Johannesburg, featuring a lighting scheme designed by Rob Grobler, with equipment supplied by rental specialist Gearhouse South Africa.

Robe Gets Closer to Kane Brown
Talented American country music singer, songwriter and rising star Kane Brown is on the road opening for Chris Young’s ‘Losing Sleep’ tour, and lighting designer Andrew James wanted a practical and spectacular specials rig to give the young artist’s set full impact. He turned to Robe moving lights - 18 x Pointes and five Spikies - supplied to the tour as a specials package by 4Wall Nashville, who he stated are great to work with,”friendly, helpful, knowledgeable … and with top notch gear.”
Robe Gets Elected in Israel
Robe moving lights were unmistakably present during the recent Israeli general elections and specifically during broadcasts from the country’s main news station, Channel 12, which built a special pop-up studio in front of Israel’s famous Parliament building, the Knesset, which was live for a week. Lighting designer Ofer Jacobi was asked by Channel 12 to design a lighting scheme for the studio and Danor Theatre & Studio Systems was appointed as the rental supplier. Ofer’s first choice of moving light was Robe for several different reasons!
