Rental company CGS Dry Hire, based in Denkendorf in southern Germany – known nationwide as CGS – and headed by Christian Geyer, relies on a large number of Robe’s just launched FORTE high powered LED moving lights, which have just been delivered via Robe Germany. These are now available for dry hire at CGS. These are the first FORTES to be received in Germany and have been included in the rental stock of CGS for general lighting equipment – with Christian looking ahead to when the industry re-starts as pandemic lockdown rules start being eased.

Seven hundred and ninety five (795) Robe Spikies are on the road with the incredible Bruno Mars 24K Magic world tour – setting a record for the largest number to date of a single type of Robe fixture on one touring show! The Spikies are the main lighting feature of an action-packed show and are used constantly for hi-impact looks, an array of fluid effects, mesmeric chases, animated chunks of color and magically twinkling and sparkling ‘soft’ surfaces which can totally transform the appearance of the performance space in this exciting hi-energy show.

Estonian rental company Strikken supplied the lighting design and production design and equipment for the Power Stage Live TV podium, which welcomed the 2020 winners of Rally Estonia event – part of the World Rally Championship (WRC) – and was set up close to the final stage finish line, near Rally Estonia’s HQ in Tartu. They relied on the power and versatility of Robe moving lights including LEDWash 300s, LEDWash 800s and MMX Spots to deliver spectacular looking results. The luminaires were picked for their compact size, light weight, and brightness, and all rigged on the stage ground support structure together with some outrigged pipes facilitating the front positions.

The latest series of ‘Take Me Out Mzanzi’ – aired on M-Net’s Mzanzi Magic network in South Africa market – was recorded over 6 weeks at Sasani Studios in Johannesburg, featuring a lighting scheme designed by Rob Grobler, with equipment supplied by rental specialist Gearhouse South Africa.

The show was recorded in Studio 5 of the Globus Group Studio complex in Jerusalem, produced by German based Constantin Entertainment, and lit with the help of Robe ROBIN MMX WashBeams and ROBIN LEDWash 1200s which were instrumental to Azulay’s design.

The fabulous Main Stage design at this year’s legendary Dutch EDM event DanceValley … was designed by 250K with lighting by Andre Beekmans from The Art of Light featuring nearly 230 Robe moving lights.

Talented American country music singer, songwriter and rising star Kane Brown is on the road opening for Chris Young’s ‘Losing Sleep’ tour, and lighting designer Andrew James wanted a practical and spectacular specials rig to give the young artist’s set full impact. He turned to Robe moving lights - 18 x Pointes and five Spikies - supplied to the tour as a specials package by 4Wall Nashville, who he stated are great to work with,”friendly, helpful, knowledgeable …  and with top notch gear.”

Robe moving lights were unmistakably present during the recent Israeli general elections and specifically during broadcasts from the country’s main news station, Channel 12, which built a special pop-up studio in front of Israel’s famous Parliament building, the Knesset, which was live for a week. Lighting designer Ofer Jacobi was asked by Channel 12 to design a lighting scheme for the studio and Danor Theatre & Studio Systems was appointed as the rental supplier. Ofer’s first choice of moving light was Robe for several different reasons!

Robe once again had a big presence at Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Las Vegas, another high profile event on the U.S. EDM calendar – following spectacular performances for the brand at ULTRA Miami and Coachella.

The Christmas Metal Symphony 2013 European tour blazed its way through Sweden, the Czech Republic and Germany to packed houses appreciating the metallic full force of the Magnum Opus Rockestra directed by Joost Van Den Broek, a rock-tastic collaboration between the Metalforce 1 band and a 32 piece Hungarian symphony orchestra. Lighting designer André Beekmans from Eindhoven, The Netherlands based creative lighting practice The Art of Light specified Robe ROBIN Pointes and ROBIN LEDBeam 100s to be a major visual feature of his stunning designs for the ‘A State of Trance’ 650 (ASOT) event, staged at the Jaarbeurs, Utrecht, The Netherlands.
