A global musical phenomenon, Wicked has taken to the road for its first UK and Ireland tour and the Production Resource Group (PRG) is providing a custom-built automation solution and the full lighting system.

Production Resource Group’s Los Angeles team recently deployed an L-ACOUSTICS sound system for several concerts recorded for broadcast on NBC’s popular television talk show, Ellen. Two of the show’s most recent musical guests included One Direction and Taylor Swift, both of whom performed on outdoor back lots at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank.

Global production specialist PRG has collaborated with events promoter Live Nation to deliver five unique concert festivals at London's Olympic Park, which featured some of the world's biggest artists. PRG supplied an all-encompassing production solution delivering lighting, rigging, and staffing for the live shows, which ran on consecutive weekends from the end of June and into July 2013.

The Challenge: Engineer an audio system that is concealed in the stage and scenery while still providing exceptional sound quality for both live and broadcast audiences.

Production Resource Group (PRG) worked with the production team for popular cockney comic, Micky Flanagan, to upscale his summer theatre show - 'Back in the Game'. Equally successful as an arena tour, the show impressively sold out at 35 UK arenas, including three shows at London's Wembley Arena and seven at The O2.

For the tenth time now, the PRG Live Entertainment Awards (PRG LEA) were presented on 14 April 2015 in the festival hall in Frankfurt in front of an audience of over 1,300 guests from the national and international music, event and entertainment scenes. With a total of 15 awards, event organisers, artist managers, concert agents, venue operators and artists were recognised for their excellent achievements in the live entertainment industry.

As part of the company’s overall expansion of video touring production services, Production Resource Group LLC (PRG) recently purchased 58 additional FUJINON lenses for use on its newly acquired Grass Valley LDX80 Première cameras. PRG Nocturne, the largest non-broadcasting purchaser of FUJINON lenses, has selected only FUJINON lenses since the company’s inception in 1981. They have over 200 FUJINON 2/3-inch field lenses, HD ENG-style, and 2/3-inch HD robotic camera lenses in their extensive inventory.

The Production Resource Group (PRG) will have a significant presence at this year's Prolight + Sound from 4 to 7 April in the Festhalle Frankfurt. The action gets underway in the evening before the show with the presentation of the PRG Live Entertainment Awards (LEA), for which PRG is responsible as overall technical service provider. The creative responsibility, as in previous years, will rest with Jerry Appelt and bright!. From the opening day of the show onwards, visitors to the Festhalle will be able to examine the stage used, including all the installations and effects, and attend regularly scheduled demo shows. This year, the music for the demo show was composed by the band FOXOS, which will also be performing it live in the Festhalle.

PRG UK worked closely with Arcade Fire's Design Team and Touring and Production Management to supply the lighting, rigging and crew package for the indie rockers' headline European Tour, including the fantastic shows at Earls Court in June.

Marina Bay, in the heart of Singapore, was the location for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, which took place from the 14th to the 26th of August. Creative director Ivan Heng, show producer Vernon Teo, and the artistic team that included lighting designer Koert Vermeulen of ACT Lighting Design, presented the ceremonies, which took place on the world’s largest floating platform stage with the Singapore skyline as the backdrop. Jacques Rogge, President of the IOC, said, “It was a combination of pure emotion and technical perfection in a unique setting.”

2014's Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) at the Royal Albert Hall has yet again seen a string of hugely successful performances given by some of the world's most popular concert touring artists including Ed Sheeran, The Cure, Suede and Paolo Nutini along with an evening of comedy hosted by Jason Manford. As has been the case for many years Production Resource Group (PRG) provided a skilled team of expert crew along with a comprehensive lighting and rigging package.

International production expert PRG teamed up with Harvey Goldsmith promotions at Twickenham in June to supply rigging, and lighting for the massive Chime for Change concert headlined by Beyonce and Madonna.
