The SD9 is one of DiGiCo’s most compact, lightweight consoles, but with 96 channels and a full range of features, it is the perfect choice for Scott Humphries, Front of House engineer and Production Manager, and Rory Mulligan, Monitor engineer, for British folk rock band Bear’s Den.  Supplied by SSE Audio, the two SD9s have spent five weeks touring with the band around Europe, starting in Scandinavia and taking in Germany, France, the UK, The Netherlands and finishing in Belgium. The choice of console was Scott’s, and both he and Rory couldn’t be more pleased with them.

Launch of the Longines Live Alpine Data System

At the FIS Alpine Ski Championships in St. Moritz, Longines presented the game-changing Longines Live Alpine Data system, consisting of a chip attached to the skier’s boot equipped with a radar and motion sensor. The Longines Live Alpine Data technology enables the real-time and continuous measurement of the athlete’s speed, acceleration and deceleration, the time it takes to reach a defined speed (e.g. 80km/h or 100km/h). The system also analysis of jumps of the athletes (speed before and after the jump and the lengths of the jump).

IMG Norway invests in SAM’s LiveTouch

Snell Advanced Media (SAM) today announced that IMG Norway has selected its LiveTouch system to produce replay and highlights packages for its live horse racing coverage. The system is used to create instant content for its live studio show which broadcasts races from selected tracks in Norway, Sweden, Denmark  France, and various other international races, as well as to produce replay and highlights packages for its pre-recorded magazine show. IMG Norway worked closely with Mediability, SAM’s reseller partner for Norway, Sweden and Denmark during the system design, implementation and training stages of the project.

One OK Rock Brings Bandit Lites On North American Tour

Japanese alt-rock back ONE OK ROCK recently wrapped a January run in North America promoting their new album Ambitions with a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites and designed by Jesse Henke. The band, comprised of Takahiro Moriuchi, Toru Yamashita, Ryota Kohama and Tomoya Kanki are known for their stellar vocals, energetic performances and diehard fans who turn out in incredible numbers.  
With a blank slate to design with (except for direction regarding incorporating logo scrims) Henke created a dynamic floor package with six towers across the stage with six T pipe down riggers flown from existing house trusses.
