A Comprehensive Overview on Live 3D in 2010

2010 is set to be the year of 3D. While cinema goers are bombarded with a range of 3D movies, broadcasters are moving fast to catch up. Sky UK launched the first 3D channel in Europe and ESPN has broadcasted 25 of the 64 FIFA World Cup games on its 3D TV channel. France’s canal+ has set a date for its 3D channel by the end of the year and Fox has transmitted the Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game in 3D with the help of DirecTV. The US Masters golf tournament was broadcasted in 3D via Comcast’s cable network in the US. Helping 3D along are sporting bodies across the globe including the rugby league in Australia (NRL), Twenty20 cricket in India (IPL), basketball (NBA) and American football (NFL) in the US.
