The world Cup including the Opening Concert

After the end of the BBVA League and with three games to go in the Liga Adelante, GOL TELEVISION turns its attention to the World Cup which gets underway this week in South Africa, the year’s most important sporting event held every four years. The channel will provide viewers with comprehensive coverage right from the kick-off on 11th June and throughout the tournament which comes to a close a month later on 11th July. To get things moving, GOL TELEVISION will cover the opening concert of the World Cup on 10th June from 22.00, from the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg which will feature performances from Shakira, Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas and Juanes.

Right from the kick-off till the final whistle, the network will offer a special programming schedule devoted to the coverage of event from South Africa

Providing a round-up of the day’s action as well as in-depth analysis and debate, the channel will also broadcast a special world cup daily news programme, “Especial Mundogol Mundial”, for the entirety of the tournament from 22.30 to 00.30, with all the latest results, highlights, standings, match-times, interviews, opinion and debate and much more. The programme will be presented by Axel Torres, the channel’s international football expert, Jordi Domínguez and José Sanchís, who together with the help of the commentators, specialists and other pundits from a variety of different countries, will analyse everything that happens on and off the pitch in South Africa. In addition, the viewers will be closely involved in the coverage via, text messages, e-mail and comments on social networking sites and the GOL T website.

But that’s not all, right from the kick-off, the channel will also broadcast three live editions of “GOL Noticias”, bringing viewers all the latest news from South Africa with the headlines early in the day and all the match highlights in later editions. The news progammes will be presented by Ricardo Rosety and will include extended highlights of the matches, a look-ahead to upcoming matches, all the latest news from the Spanish camp, press conferences, fan views, live link-ups from the training grounds as well as expert comment. In addition, all the latest close season news from the BBVA League, signings and other news will also be covered. GOL NOTICIAS will go out live every day at 15.00, 18.00 and 20.00 for the entire competition.
