Two Antelope HD Systems for ORF in Kitzbühel

In the long history of the legendary Hahnenkamm race ORF has used two Antelope HD systems - for the 1st time.

Accurately sought out camera positions by director Fritz Melchert and dramatic replays provided by 2 AntelopeHD systems left no doubt - Alpine Skiing needs Ultra-Slow-Motion to show the extreme speed and the enormous force impacting on the athletes.

The slow-motion sequences fell perfectly into line with the TV concept - although 1,500 frames/second seemed a bit over the top.

However the extreme slowdown of images convinced all critics. Once more it became clear that 75 frames/second (SSL) or 600 frames/second (mid-highspeed) are simply not enough to show the dramatic art and beauty of alpine ski sports.
