The specific duties of OBS as the Host Broadcaster are as follows:
• Produce the international television and radio (ITVR) signals of the Games
• Design, build, install and operate and then dismantle the IBC
• Design, build, install, operate and then remove such facilities and equipment at the competition venues and select non-competition venues other than the IBC
• Coordinate and provide various facilities and services to the RHBs
• Represent the needs of the RHBs to the london Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) regarding a variety of facilities and services
• Produce various features and maintain an Olympic archival service
• Assist LOCOG in the design and building of infrastructure needed at the venues to accommodate the needs of
OBSL and the RHBs.

ATEME has teamed up with UK provider of broadcast class video solutions Techex to support its customers throughout the London Olympics in 2012. Any ATEME customer broadcasting from London before, and during the Olympic games itself, will be able to receive full back up including telephone support and rapid delivery of spare parts for video transmission. The opening ceremony is on July 27th and closing on August 12th, but most broadcasters need assistance several days before the start date while they are performing tests, therefore the service will run for 30 days from July 13th.

Boxx TV
Boxx TV is to provide an uncontended enterprise grade Wi-Fi hotspot dedicated to broadcasters attending the London Olympic Games. It is aimed at crews looking to use platforms such as Quicklink, Livestream, Dejero, LiveU, TVU, Livewire or Skype, to upload news from the London Olympic Park.
The hotspot is designed for sending live streams or FTP with upload speeds of around 4Mbps.
Boxx TV will provide portable hardware to access this unique hotspot, so that crews with or without broadcasting rights can work from connections in and around the London Olympic park area. The Wi-Fi will be operational around the Aquatic Centre, the Main Stadium, the Westfield shopping centre and the public areas and restaurants.

Vitec Videocom is gearing up to support broadcasters during the major UK sporting events this summer. TV coverage will span the full sporting spectrum - from tennis tournaments, football finals, watersports, to major track and field events in London and the rest of the country.
