Seventeen BSI Systems at Masters Golf 2017

News story: BSI seventeen systems at Masters Golf

Broadcast Sports International provided seventeen Real Freedom microwave systems to CBS Sports for their coverage of the 81st edition of the Masters Golf Tournament.

Sixteen receive sites were placed throughout the course and driving range so that the cameras and operators could roam unhindered over the course and follow the golfers into the rough when the drives were sliced.

These cameras had previously been connected to the truck via fibre, but with the move to RF cameras the ability to roam the fairways and surrounding areas greatly increased their story telling potential.

BSI used a bespoke return video system so that all cameramen could frame their shots around the graphics, and this allowed the announcers on the course to see the coverage from the cameras.

BSI used their own 1.4GHz wireless microphone system for all of the announcer microphones and portable effects microphones.
