rbb/ARD was Host Broadcaster for the 2016 European Rowing Championships

The 2016 European Rowing Championships in Brandenburg, Germany began with over 500 athletes from 34 countries and ended with 23 nations earning medals. This is the widest medal spread ever at the European Rowing Championships which was first founded in 1893. The wind on the Beetzsee lake regatta course made for challenging rowing conditions but the talent of the field saw solid racing and stand-out performances.

However the finals at the 2016 European Rowing Championships in Brandenburg, Germany had crews using their best technique to handle the cross-head wind conditions on the Beetzsee regatta course. Under sunny skies these finals gave an indication of what the 2016 season would hold as some of the best European rowing nations tested their racing prowess - some for the first time this year and gave an indication how good the European teams might compete during the Olympic Games in Rio.

rbb/ARD was Host Broadcaster for the 2016 European Rowing Championships

The German host broadcaster rbb/ARD produced an international feed and a national program of the races on the Beetzsee in Brandenburg close to Berlin. For this purpose rbb/ARD have hired the OBVan Ü7 from TV Skyline, RF camera technology from rentEvent, Cineflex cameras (Shotover) from HD Skycam and a rope camera (RocketCam) from pmt. The races and the victory ceremonies were covered with 22 cameras.
