HBS and FFP Collaboration Continues

Amandine Pitou of the LFP conducts a presentation during the HBS Media Manager Seminar

The first Ligue 2 matchday marked the start of the 2013-2014 French football season this past weekend, and with it the beginning of HBS' sixth consecutive season of collaboration with the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP). HBS' contract with the LFP covers the entirety of the L1 and L2 seasons as well as the Coupe de la Ligue, the French League Cup.

As was the case during the 2012-2013 season, HBS is handling overall quality control for the match feeds and is responsible for overseeing their delivery to the LFP's media rights holders. In addition, HBS has once again implemented a webserver service to facilitate access to the massive quantities of footage captured over the course of the season and is providing Media Managers to coordinate the media operations for every match.

In preparation for the new season, HBS conducted a seminar including all fifteen of its Media Managers. This involved a review session covering general broadcast guidelines, the responsibilities of the various parties involved and a full overview of all the clubs and stadiums participating in the two leagues. Special attention was paid to the three clubs having been promoted to Ligue 2, former top-level mainstay Metz, Créteil and CA (Cercle Athlétique) Bastia, although this last one is to some extent already familiar to HBS due to sharing its stadium with Ligue 1's Sporting Club Bastia.

Beyond these operational missions, HBS also provides consultancy to the LFP on all matters relating to the broadcast set-up and overlay at its stadiums — an aspect taking on ever more importance as the UEFA EURO 2016 in France draws closer.
