The 2010 PLASA Show was again a huge success for MA Lighting and it’s co-exhibitors MAJOR and Rainbow Colour Changers.
The new grandMA2 software release 2.0, the MA VPU (Video Processing Unit) and the whole networking technology of MA Lighting, including the MA NPU (Network Processing Unit) achieved much praise.

MA Lighting’s Managing Director Michael Althaus summarized: “We received a massive interest in grandMA2 especially from theatres in the UK, They do in particular benefit from the latest grandMA2 software release 2.0 and were interested to find out themselves, why a remarkable number of theatres, among them the Royal Shakespeare Company opted for these future oriented control system.”

"In recent years MA Lighting has collected extensive information from the theatre market and the whole product design of the grandMA2 was heavily influenced by this feedback. Our development team have worked very hard on achieving the best results”, Althaus continues, ”Looking at the most recent software release, 2.0, we have added a multitude of new functionality to make life easier for operators in all situations. And, we will never stop improving our system. “

This was just one of the key facts for Vince Herbert from the The Royal Shakespeare Company, based in Stratford Upon Avon, to chose grandMA2 as their new lighting control system. “Following exhaustive tests of all the possible options grandMA2 was the platform for us”, says Vince. "With the future demands on lighting and visual control being so potentially complex we needed a desk that could evolve and grow over many years - a pedigree that has been proven in grandMA series 1, that the software will add functionality and features for a very long time to come. We have already used grandMA2 on one of our productions with excellent results."
