The ECHO award ceremony, which is acclaimed as the German equivalent of the Grammys and Brit Awards, took place on 21 March in Berlin and was shown live on prime time television by the German public broadcaster ARD. More than 3.7 million TV viewers watched the show, which was produced by Kimmig Entertainment GmbH. The ECHO awards are presented every year by the Deutsche Phono-Akademie, the cultural institute of the German Association of Recording Companies, to the most successful national and international musicians, with nominations based on record sales. 2013 is already the tenth year that Sennheiser has been the technical partner for the ECHO awards, and the audio specialist once again guaranteed excellent sound for the show with its extensive microphone equipment and uncompromising expertise.
