Wilcon Enhances Award Season's Reach with Network Expansion in West Los Angeles

Fiber-Optic Pioneer Wilcon Partners with Pacific Television Center to Add Dark Fiber and Carrier Diversity to West Coast’s Most Significant Broadcasting Hub

Live television broadcasts between Los Angeles and New York City will soon be faster than ever, thanks to the recently-completed expansion of Wilcon’s state-of-the-art, fiber-optic network infrastructure in West Los Angeles. The Pacific Television Center (PacTV) entertainment transmission facility, located on Motor Avenue, is harnessing Wilcon’s extensive optical network to increase distribution speeds.

“The age of high-definition video has created a necessity for the rapid transmission of uncompressed content,” said Jon DeLuca, chief executive officer of Wilcon. “The entertainment industry needs reliability and security, and Wilcon has always been at the forefront of both as a leader in fiber-optic network infrastructure. We’re honored to broaden our partnership with PacTV as we enter 2016.”

Awards shows, sporting events and other real-time programming will have reliable and secure ultra-broadband service thanks to Wilcon’s introduction of dark fiber and diverse entry routing into the Motor Avenue hub. The cutting-edge infrastructure utilizes Wilcon’s current 3,000-mile network, as well as additional newly constructed fiber-optic infrastructure.

We plan on being a Wilcon partner for years to come.”

West Coast telecom pioneer Wilcon has been at the forefront in serving the entertainment industry for 18 years, beginning with the construction of Downtown Los Angeles’ first fiber-optic hub in 1998.
