BANGALORE, India – Supporting heavy metal band Lamb of God’s first live show in India, regional sound company V&P Sound deployed a full Harman audio system including JBL VerTec® line arrays, Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers and a Soundcraft Vi6™ digital console at India’s inaugural Summer Storm Festival. Held at the Palace Grounds in Bangalore, the festival hosted thousands of heavy metal fans and included Lamb of God and numerous other bands.

V&P Sound Deploys JBL VerTec® Line Arrays, Crown I-Tech HD Amplifiers and Soundcraft Vi6™ Digital Console For India’s Summer Storm Festival.

Bangalore-based V&P Sound deployed 24 VerTec VT4889 full-size line array cabinets at 12 per side, 24 VT4880A full-size arrayable subwoofers at eight per side and eight stacked center subs, four VT4888 midsize line array elements used as center fills and 26 VRX915M stage monitors. Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers powered the system. A Soundcraft Vi6 console, loaded with the latest V4 software, was used at the front of house position. The system was configured using Harman HiQnet™ System Architect™.
Accordig to Mellesh T., chief system/mix engineer for V&P Sound, the VerTec system easily delivered the sonic image directly to the audience, even those in the rear areas.  “VerTec’s clarity, frequency response and high-power handling capability is exceptional. The system excels at reproducing the full bandwidth from the deepest lows of the bass to the most subtle high-frequency tones.  The entire setup was perfect for hours of heavy metal music in a large outdoor venue.”
It was imperative to ensure the thousands of fans were able to perfectly decipher the music blasting from the stage. With the first note of Lamb of God’s set, the V&P team and front of house engineer Brian Griffin witnessed a thunderous ovation from excited fans.
“I think the Soundcraft Vi6 is an exceptional piece of engineering innovation and probably the most intuitive digital board in the market,” said Vishnu P., V&P Sound Director.  “Its interface allows the engineer to concentrate on the mix and the music rather than running the board. Every control and parameter is where I need it to be, even before setup.”
