Vinten®, a Vitec Group brand and a global leader in camera supports, is to be formally presented with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2010 during a ceremony on Tuesday 13 July. Her Majesty’s representative, The Lord Tollemache, Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, will present the Award and read the citation.

Vinten has been recognised in the Innovation category for its continuous development of Perfect Balance, a unique engineering solution for professional television camera support that enables camera operators to focus on the perfect shot for longer.

This innovation, first introduced in the mid-1980s and continually refined since, led to a major boost in global sales for Vinten, which is now a world market leader in professional and broadcast camera supports. Television programmes from the BBC’s Saturday childrens’ programme, Bamzooki, to entertainment spectaculars such as The X Factor rely on Vinten pedestals, tripods and heads.

Accepting the Award on behalf of Vinten will be managing director, Roger Wilson. ““This outstanding recognition is a fitting tribute to the continuing success of the Vinten brand and its employees as it celebrates its 100th anniversary, an unprecedented achievement in its own right in the film and television industry” he said.

Local dignitaries will be on hand to celebrate Vinten’s success including representatives fromSuffolk County Council, St Edmundsbury Borough Council, Bury St Edmunds Town Council and Business Link.
